The Domesday List recorded in 1086 that the Manor was held by the Earl of Mortan, the half-brother of William the Conqueror. Since then the Manor has been tastefully restored and adapted. It is now a delightful Country House with a warm house-party atmosphere, in a beautiful secluded position, surrounded by attractive gardens 30 acres of farmland. The house is one mile from the beach at Crackington Haven, four miles from the picturesque harbour of Boscastle and twelve miles from the nearest holiday resort at Bude. Although there are the usual sporting facilities and sightseeing opportunities within easy reach, our main appeal is to those who wish to escape the crowds and enjoy the peace and tranquility of this corner of England. The Eden Project is about 60 minutes drive away. |

A full farm-house breakfast is served at 8.30am in the breakfast room. In the evening, guests usually gravitate to the lounge to help themselves to the 'lounge bar' and meet each other before dinner which is served punctually at 7.00pm. Gentlemen tend to wear jacket and tie in the dining room. We trust that guests will appreciate our asking them not to smoke in the house. We have found that even one smoker can ruin the atmosphere for others.
